Working through the Mud
December marked a powerful close to 2023. In my personal life I navigated some experiences that prompted a reexamination of my relationships with myself, my family, and the greater world. Shorter days and colder temps compelled me to slow down-an adjustment I needed, realizing that life is a series of waves, and sometimes you have to go with the flow.
Doin Work in Albemarle, North Carolina:
The family garden and orchard project has come together very nicely. A couple big cold rains allowed us to vet our earthworks and water harvesting orchard rows. The rains also filled the 1,600 gallon cistern. The next steps are to finish the deer fence. All the posts are in and bracing done so I am hanging field fence on the posts.
Embracing Change:
In my personal life I experienced some monumental personal growth. Some things I have been running through my head for years clicked into place. I gained insights into the struggles that I have plagued myself since I was young. I can describe this new outlook as being more honest with myself. Knowing who I am and what I want to accomplish in the next decade.
If you are navigating some big changes in your personal outlook just know I am doing the same. Find comfort in the change. If you ain't growing you're dying. Embrace your new outlook and find beauty in the natural ebb and flow of life.
